Fuel Prices
This worksheet shows how the prices of electricity, oil, gas and wood have varied since January 2003. It also shows the cost per kWh of heating using a geothermal heat pump, air-to-water heat pump, oil boiler, oil condensing boiler, gas boiler and wood pellet boiler. All figures used in this comparison can be found on www.sei.ie except the efficiency of the Waterkotte Heat Pump. This has been taken from the results of a recent European study.

In this comparison we have tried to show how the prices of electricity, oil, gas and wood have varied for a large commercial project and also for a small commercial project. Therefore this comparison simply shows the average costs of gas and electricity between 1998 and 2008. Cost Comparisons
Using fuel prices found on www.sei.ie, we have developed a cost comparison to demonstrate the savings available when you install a Geothermal Heating System. An effort has been made to show and explain all calculations and all figures used come straight from government bodies except the efficiency of the Waterkotte Geothermal Heat Pump.
